ANTI FLAG rocking at sold-out Backstage for HIGH FIVE

“We are here for a good cause, so thanks everybody for coming out!”, shouted front man Chris#2 from ANTI FLAG into the microphone when he got on the stage. The US Punk band is currently on tour in Europe and played at Munich’s Backstage Club on the 8th of June –the only concert in southern Germany – exclusively for HIGH FIVE, the non-profit organization founded by Millhaus staff. Chris#2 made use of his appearance to encourage the audience to support HIGH FIVE: “Sport can, like music, influence one’s life in a positive way. HIGH FIVE does a great job and we need to support that!”. Making a statement and being a good example, he went on stage wearing a HIGH FIVE T-Shirt and the band even signed a few shirts after the concert as well. The limited collectables can now be purchased on the HIGH FIVE facebook page.
The proceeds of the shirt sales and those of the concert will go directly towards HIGH FIVE to secure the realization of further activities.

Exceptional success for the Fiat 500 at the STROKE.ARTFAIR!

10.000 art enthusiasts came to Zenith in Munich on the last weekend of May for the international urban art fair STROKE.ARTFAIR. Millhaus implemented successfully the STROKE.FEATURE surrounding the building: international artists and crews were given the space to show their skills and creativity during the live painting of two huge heating boilers and six massive canvas screens. Over two days urban artists such as Pixelpancho from Turin, Jeanspezial from Paris or Enivo, Jerry Pintura and Rodrigo Branco from Brazil created on over 160m² canvases a multifaceted mix of artworks showing the characteristic elements of the artists and their home countries.

Inside the trade fair building, a Black Box conceptualized by Millhaus showed the specially produced video of the urban culture engagement by Fiat 500. Furthermore „Everyday Masterpieces“ magazines - a „STROKE Special Edition“ - were handed out to all visitors. The Fiat 500 which was painted by Danny Figueroa during the STROKE WARM UP at Sendlinger Tor, also organized by Millhaus, was exhibited as well.

Jürgen Horrwarth‘s “Transition Tango” combined generations!

On Saturday 4th of June 2011, the Fiat Freestyle Team, looked after by Millhaus, and team rider Jürgen Horrwarth invited young and old riders to the Transition Tango skateboard bowl contest. Over 200 skateboard enthusiasts came to Stuttgart on that sunny day to participate in this „meeting of generations“. Besides the pros, amateurs as well as the over 30’s had the chance to show what they (already/still) can do. The overall level was super high and amateurs as well as oldies showed some amazing stuff. Jürgen Horrwarth ended up being a „bad host“ by winning the pro category himself.

Millhaus was responsible for the organization, sponsoring, PR and realization on-site.

More impressions of the event on facebook or on fiatfreestyleteam.de, a video of the event will follow soon and can also be found on the DVD of the next Place magazine.

Millhaus puts Arnette Europe into the spotlight at CLASH 2011

By now CLASH, the very popular and relaxed contest which is frequently visited by guest from all over Europe as well as some overseas stars, is a fixed institution within the skateboarding scene. At its 7th edition this year Millhaus realized the on-site presence of Arnette Europe. Not only through classic banners, beach flags and obstacle-branding but also through branded drinks vouchers which were highly sought after during the hot weekend, Millhaus was able to generate a high brand awareness for Arnette within the target group. Placing of Arnette products was realized during the Cash for Tricks Session. The best tricks during this 30min session at the stair set of the Skatehalle Berlin were awarded with Arnette sunglasses and lots of applause.
Videos and results as well as all winners and highlight clips on the Arnette blog, looked after by Millhaus.

Head Jib Factory 2011

After last year’s success Head Team rider Alex Tank again invited the twenty best jibbers from Europe to the Jib Factory at the Oberjoch in 2011. In the Alps summerlike temperatures were on the rise at the end of April but if you can do a BBQ and chill in shorts and t-shirt at a snowboard contest, nobody will be mad at you.

The contest was held in form of a full day jam session without a clock, judges and visitors. This format made it possible to work on the perfection of tricks without any pressure. Nevertheless a winner was announced: Marc Swoboda was chosen by the other riders as best overall rider.

Millhaus was responsible for the organization, PR and the realization at Oberjoch.

FIAT Freestyle Team starts into the summer!

Back to the roots! Germany’s skateboarding legend Jürgen Horrwarth and Millhaus invite to a dance to celebrate the beginning of summer. On June 4th the “Transition Tango” will be hosted in Jürgen’s hometown Stuttgart. Apart from the commonly known categories Amateurs and Pros, the older generation will get the chance to ride in its own “Legends” category at the bowl contest.
In the teaser clip Jürgen already demonstrates that he’s a favorite for a place on the podium. Millhaus does the organization before and during the event as well as press relations.

Already some days ago we entitled Flo Jung as a never resting globetrotter. According to the principle “A rolling stone gathers no moss” the surfer within the FIAT Freestyle Team set off on his way to Maui to ride one of the biggest waves on earth. He was lucky, the swell was good and so he was able to surf “Jaws”, that’s the name of the famous surf spot, in best conditions. Of course this hadn’t been the only wave which Flo visited during his Maui Trip.
