Millhaus realizes the T-Mobile Wakeboard PR action in the harbor of Hamburg.

Job definition:
T-Mobile Germany commissioned Millhaus to conceive and permute a PR action prior to the T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds Summer Session in Hamburg on August 30th 2009. Target was to generate a maximum presence of the T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds in the public and special interest media.

Implementation:
Catch for this PR action was the discipline Wakeboard which was one athletic component at the Summer Session. Since Hamburg is renowned for its harbor, it was obvious that this extraordinary area should be used in terms of an “Extreme Playground”. The idea was born: a record jump over a Hamburg-typical barge. The new designed Grasbrookhafen in HafenCity offered the optimal location. A Wakeboard Kicker with a weight of one ton was brought into the dock with special cranes and tugs and anchored with the barge. The two German top-riders Steffen Vollert and Tom Richter risked the jump over the 17m long, 4m wide and 3m high excursion boat. In face of really though conditions they both coped with this uncommon challenge.

Result:
In addition to many visitors in HafenCity who watched the Wakeboard Jump live the promotion was announced in numerous media. Channels with strong reaches such as ZDF, Sat1 17:30, RTL 2, N24, Hamburg 1, MTV, Mc Donalds TV, Spiegel Online, Morgenpost, Abendblatt reported on the record jump.
Millhaus produced an online video clip which was distributed to various international Wakeboard media.
